natural make up

As you may have noticed, I am not a big fan of natural make up. In the past, I´ve tried to do natural make up but it always ends up looking like a smokey eye. However, I was just chillaxing around the house today and decided to give it another try.

Face:
Foundation: Maybelline pure liquid mineral foundation
Concealer: Maybelline pure liquid mineral concealer
Powder: Bourjois Powder Compact in 71 Beige clair
Blush: Sleek Pout Polish in Electro Peach - not actually a cream blush, but it works really well as one! I think I will do a review on this product soon as I lovvit.

Eyes:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yoghurt all over the lid, on the waterline and as a brow highlight
Bourjois Bourjois Noir & Blanc Eyeliner (black) smudged along top lashes only
Mascara: Max Factor False Lash Effect

Lips: Sleek Pout Polish in Electro Peach

So today I spent some money at KICKS again (KICKS is the best make up store in the whole world! That being said, I have never been to a Sephora that was bigger than the really disappointing ones in Barcelona & Prague). I got a 500kr voucher from my brother as a Christmas gift so I decided that I would buy something I would normally feel like I couldn’t afford. So when I saw the Smashbox test kit all I could hear was KA-CHING!

So what it contains is samples of their primer, eye under eye-brightener, a lip gloss (that smells amazing), a palette of eyebrow colours and creme eyeliners, and a duo brush with their angle brush and creme eyeliner brush. I was sold when I saw the brush.

I also decided earlier today that I was gonna dye my hair. I haven’t had brown hair in a long time. And I had a hard time picking the colour but when I saw Swartzkopf’s series of colours that was called “Country Colours” I knew I had found what I was looking for. I can really recommend this one, I think it is the best one I have ever tried to be honest. In general my hair don’t really react well to the dye you buy yourself, but this one really worked. ANYHOO. here is a photo with the finished result + after using my new stuff from Smashbox

I used a new bronzer and lipstick from Isadora also. I think everything turned out really nice. Plus I did my eyebrows last night and I think that I am heading in the right direction with my eyebrows. God knows I have been struggeling with them.

Okedoke so lately I haven’t been doing much with my own make up except that I am slowely trying to perfect the eyeliner. The progress has been slow and difficult but I think THINK that I am getting really good at it. I will post photos in a few days.

What I have been doing though is Jenny’s make up. What is so much fun about doing someone else’s make up is you so clearly see if your skills have evolved - you have to work with that persons specific face and features. And I feel that I have gotten so much better lately and it is so much fun. This is how it turned out last night:

For her eyes I used the Sleek makeup Original palette in two different green colours. for her cheeks I used a Makeup Forever blusher as a contour, and then High Beam from Benefit as a highlighter on the cheekbones and under her eyebrows. For her lips I mixed a red Dior lipstick with a hot pink lipstick from Barry M with the High Beam. I think the lips turned out gorgeous!

New things from Sweden

Okedoke so I have been home in Sweden for three days now and OBVIOUSLY I have bought make up. I will start off by talking about these “eyebrow knives” from Depend:

They do look super scary and the name may put you off, but honestly they are amazing. They are so easy to use and I think they may be one of my new favourite things. yeah honestly. Get yourself hooked up!

The other thing I bought was a foundation brush from FACE Stockholm. As Deniz has written earlier the foundation brush from SIGMA isn’t as awesome as many of the other brushes from their set. So I have been looking out for a new one and this one was so so soft so I just HAD to buy it:

And yeah it is really really good and I do not regret buying it all.

Speaking of foundations, I said that I was gonna buy a Chanel foundation and laddieezzz I did buy a Chanel foundation. The Lumiere Pro is really good, and it keeps my skin from going dry but never every oily. And also it smells healthy. You know that horrible smell from drugstore foundations? Nahh none of that, this actually smells like something that is good for your skin. And also my skin has gotten much better recently. I don’t know it it has got anything to do with the foundation but let’s say that it has

Perfume

I was contemplating buying this in duty-free yesterday… and I regret not getting it. There are only three perfumes I like. Daisy by Marc Jacobs, my Chloë perfume (which is what I use) and now this one. And I miss it!

I really am not into buying make up at the moment. I think I have all the eyeshadow and blush I could ever need. However, I still ran out of foundation recently, and my Too Faced Shadow Insurance is just not working for me. So I decided to invest in something really good quality, because this is stuff I use everyday. So it´s worth it.

Clinique Superfit Foundation, Benefit F.Y.Eye primer.

I´ve used the foundation already, and I LOVE IT. It does exactly what it´s supposed to, and it lasts all day. I haven´t used the Benefit eye primer yet, but I have heard amazing things about it and will definitely write a post about it works out.

I did this makeup yesterday, and I was really pleased with it. A quick sweep of Urban Decay Sin all over the lid, MAC Kid eyeshadow in the crease, Urban Decay 24/7 liner pencil in Zero on the waterline and top lid, topped off with L´oreal´s Super Liner Carbon Gloss. Mascara is Max Factor´s False Lash Effect (non-waterproof). Easy and dramatic!

I hate my skin.

My skin is so fucking horrible right now that I do not want to upload any FOTD until it is back to normal again. I will try everything - a different diet, birth control pills, and even a new Chanel foundation. Wish me luck.

Also I will soon update about the Make Up Forever & Illamasqua products I bought in Dublin.

E.l.f. Smokey eyes

Just a quick little post (in a hypocritical contract to my previous one) that you definitely don´t need to buy expensive make up to do an easy smokey eye. I did this make up last week before me and the rest of the girlies went to see New Moon (meeeeh except for the fact that the youtube Twilight girl was there which was the highlight of MY LIFE), and the eyeshadow is the E.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Drama.

Got a few tiny little things from MAC. A brush cleaner, a 239 brush and 11 eyeshadows all in various shades of brown. And one lilac. Yay make up!

(This is coming out of my last 2 paychecks btw. I quit my job to focus on Uni and decided to treat myself, because lets face it, I never get myself anything)
